Closed degustation of the Russian sparkling wines was held at 16 September 2010. Thirty samples in the price range of 150 rubles were tested. The purpose of the tasting was to identify counterfeit products manufactured under the name "Russian sparkling wine". Products of beverages were purchased in retail outlets in Moscow, Moscow region, St. Petersburg and Samara. As a result, five samples were found not relevant to standard R 51165-2009. This kinds of sparkling wines were made of unknown material with added spirit and carbon dioxide.
